Radio Silence

As a small business owner I've always been extremely conscience of my social media output.  Keeping up with, in my case, the sewing community is a massive part of being a pattern designer.  It's also something I really enjoy but as you can imagine it takes up an insane amount of time.  Time that I don't have to give up.

Pattern Assembly

I've gotten to be a pro at assembling my own patterns over the last three years.  I print and cutout sometime up to 10 pattern drafts before I release a final design.

My Sewing Tools

I could spend hours walking through a sewing supply store.  Isles upon isles of tools, supplies, buttons, do-dads, gadgets, this and that…  So much stuff that only a warehouses could hold the amount of things that have been invented to help seamstresses make and create.

Valley Blouse . girls

This last year I've dedicated a major part of my time working to build my womens pattern line.  I was so buried in all things -busts, darts, slopes, hips, curves, blah blah- that I completely forgot how much I love making childrens clothes.  It's slightly easier to draft a childrens pattern, but that's not why.  Kids just look so cute in mommy made clothes.

As many of you may know, over the last four months my family and I have relocated to the United States.  It’s been a whirlwind of an experience and I'm happy to say that we have settled nicely into our new home nestled in the quiet mountains in northern New Jersey.

Spotlight on the Basics

The Cali Faye Collection line of Basics would never have been a reality without the talent and patience of the team of gals I was able to pull together from the huge Instagram call to testers.

Bias Binding Tutorial

In preparation for the release of the Basics Tank I've created a bias binding "How To" in an effort to calm your bias binding fears.  Bias can be a really fun and super fast way to finish off beautiful neck lines and jazz up your arm holes....if that's possible...
There are many ways to apply bias, but in this tutorial I'll show the the specific technique I use for the Basics Tank.  This technique can also be used for the women's Gardenia Dress.

I am over the moon!

My latest designs have personally filled a void in my wardrobe that I've been in need of dealing with for a very long time.  What my wardrobe was lacking was balance between comfortable functionality and effortless style that fits appropriately into my lifestyle.  I think most of us have clear evidence of our lack of exactly that as we've likely designated an entire drawer to yoga pants.
